Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith was arrested and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct Saturday night stemming from an incident at a bar outside of Baltimore.

According to police, Smith, 25, was helping an intoxicated woman in a bar bathroom in Towson, Md., when she became nauseated. After medics arrived, officers asked Smith several times to step away but he refused to comply and became argumentative.

However, Smith cooperated with police after he was arrested. He was released from custody about 11:15 p.m. after being issued a citation. A court date has not been scheduled.

According to police, the woman was taken to a hospital.

A Ravens spokesman told ESPN.com that the team is gathering information about the incident.

Smith is the fifth Ravens player to be arrested this offseason.
Running backs Ray Rice and Lorenzo Taliaferro, offensive lineman Jah Reid and wide receiver Deonte Thompson have all been arrested in the last five months. Three of the arrests occurred over a 22-day period. Smith’s arrest was the first of his NFL career.

Smith, a first-round draft pick in 2011, is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL. He is under contract through 2015 for more than $6.5 million after the team exercised its fifth-year option on him this offseason.
