The 31-year-old son of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling was found dead late Tuesday night at a home in Malibu, Calif.

Scott Sterling’s death was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The death will be investigated as a possible drug overdose, Scott Whitmore of the LA County Sheriff’s Department told the Times. An autopsy and toxicology report will take several weeks before a cause of death is determined.

Friends and family had not seen Sterling for at least two days, and his body was found at a house on the Pacific Coast Highway. There was no information yet on who went to the home and discovered Sterling, who was there by himself. No foul play was suspected.

Donald Sterling is a lawyer turned real-estate mogul who has owned the Clippers since 1981.
