Veteran infielder Asdrubal Cabrera reached a contract agreement with the Tampa Bay Rays, according to a FOXSports.com report on Tuesday.

Cabrera spent the first seven years of his major league career with the Cleveland Indians before going to the Washington Nationals this past season. In 2014, he batted .241 with 14 home runs and 61 RBIs in 146 games.

An All-Star in 2011, Cabrera hit 25 home runs and had 92 RBIs with a .273 batting average that season with the Indians, but his numbers have declined since then at the plate.

The 29-year-old has played shortstop and second base during his career and will add versatility to the Rays’ infield.
