Jonny Venters has signed with Tampa Bay.
The Tampa Bay Rays signed former Atlanta Braves left-handed reliever Jonny Venters to a two-year minor league contract.
Venters, who turns 30 on March 20, is recovering from his third Tommy John surgery.
Venters, who was an All-Star in 2011, hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2012. He is 15-10 with a 2.23 ERA over three major league seasons.
Venters reported to the Rays’ minor league camp in and will continue his rehab at the Charlotte Sports Complex in Port Charlotte, Fla., this season.
