The San Diego Padres continue to restock their outfield, agreeing on a three-team, 11-player trade that will bring in Wil Myers, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.

Myers, 24, was the American League Rookie of the Year for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2013, but his production declined sharply in 2014.

He heads from Tampa Bay to San Diego along with catcher Ryan Hanigan and two minor league pitchers, left-hander Jose Castillo and right-hander Gerardo Reyes.

The Rays receive catcher Rene Rivera, right-hander Burch Smith and minor league lefty Jake Bauers from the Padres.

The third team in the trade, the Washington Nationals, will get two minor league prospects from San Diego, shortstop Trea Turner and right-hander Joe Ross. Turner will be a “player to be named,” as he can’t be officially traded until June 14, one year after the Padres made him a first-round pick out of North Carolina State.

Outfielder Steven Souza Jr. and minor league left-hander Travis Ott will move from Washington to Tampa Bay.

If all players in the deal pass physicals and the trade is completed, Myers figures to join Matt Kemp in the revised San Diego outfield. Kemp was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers last week that also remains to be finalized.

Myers was one of the top prospects in baseball when he was acquired by the Rays from the Royals in the December 2012 deal that sent right-hander James Shields to Kansas City. He hit .293 with a .354 on-base percentage, a .478 slugging percentage, 13 homers and 53 RBIs in 88 games in 2013. Last season, he batted .222/.294/.320 with six homers and 35 RBIs in 87 games

Myers was held back this years by wrist injuries, a right wrist fracture that sidelined him for nearly half the season and a nagging left wrist injury that may have led to some of his early offensive struggles.
