PLAYERS TO WATCH
–WR Donovan Peoples-Jones has scored at least one touchdown in three consecutive games, the latest coming on a 60-yard punt return against Nebraska that led to him being named Big Ten co-Special Teams Player of the Week. The sophomore leads Michigan with 15 receptions for 169 yards and four TDs.
–K Quinn Nordin missed a PAT against the Cornhuskers but is 4-of-5 on field goals, including a 50-yarder early in the second quarter. Harbaugh said he considered letting the junior attempt a 58-yard kick just before halftime before opting to throw a Hail Mary.
–RB Karan Higdon, who missed the SMU game because of injury, returned with 136 yards and a TD on just 12 carries. He’s averaging 7.91 yards per rush this season.
–RB Ben Mason doubled his career TD total with three rushing scores against Nebraska. The sophomore has six TDs on just 12 career carries.
SERIES HISTORY: Michigan leads Northwestern 57-15-2 and has won five straight over the Wildcats and six straight in Evanston. Their last meeting was a 38-0 Wolverines home victory in 2015.
