Alex Grace – Noteworthy
OCT 22 MAC WEST DIVISION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Western Michigan LB Alex Grace…Western Michigan junior linebacker Alex Grace (Saginaw, Mich.) had a team-high 11 tackles, one pass breakup and his first career interception in a 35-10 win at Central Michigan. Grace’s interception was a key stop in the game as the Broncos had built a 21-0 lead at halftime, but Central Michigan was gaining momentum, outscoring the Broncos 10-0 in the third quarter. Grace’s interception came with 12:42 left in the game, at the Central Michigan 40-yard line. Four plays later Western Michigan converted the turnover into a touchdown, increasing their lead to 28-10. With the victory, Western Michigan regained possession of the Victory Cannon Trophy, as well as the Michigan MAC Trophy. Western Michigan (6-2) has won six games in a row and is off to a 4-0 record in conference play. The Broncos are now bowl eligible for a program-record fifth straight season. – MAC Football
