OCT 15 WALTER CAMP NATIONAL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: JUAN THORNHILL, VIRGINIA, Senior, Strong Safety, Altavista, VA/Altavista…Juan Thornhill had six tackles and two interceptions as Virginia defeated 16th-ranked Miami (Fla.), 16-13. It was UVA’s first win over a ranked opponent since 2014. With the victory, the Cavaliers improved to 4-2, 2-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Notes: Juan Thornhill is the fourth Virginia player to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since 2004, and the first since linebacker Micah Kiser (Sept. 17, 2017). – Walter Camp Football Foundation
