Juan Thornhill – Noteworthy
Former Virginia safety Juan Thornhill’s draft stock is likely on the rise after impressive workouts on Sunday and Monday at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. On Monday, Thornhill led all defensive backs with a 44-inch vertical leap, which is just two inches shy of the Combine record. Mississippi cornerback Ken Webster was second among defensive backs with a 43-inch leap. Southern California’s Marvell Tell cleared 42 inches, which ranked No. 2 among safeties. Thornhill also led all defensive backs with a broad jump of 11 feet, 9 inches. Tell was second at 11-3. Thornhill’s big day continued on Monday with a 4.42-second 40-yard dash, which ranked No. 10 among defensive backs and No. 5 among safeties. Mississippi’s Zedrick Woods led the defensive backs with a time of 4.29 seconds. – The Daily Progress
