Armani Rogers – Important – Injury
QB Armani Rogers will be sidelined indefinitely because of a foot injury, the school announced. Rogers was injured in the fourth quarter of the Sept. 22 loss to Arkansas State.
Rogers has not been much of a passer, but he is a major threat as a runner. He is averaging 122 rushing yards per game, which ranks eighth in the nation among FBS schools. He is already second in school history in career rushing yardage by a quarterback with 1,268 yards.
As a passer he has completed just 41.5 percent of his throws for 369 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. He has been sacked 11 times in the four games he played this year. Max Gilliam is in line to be the starter now. Gilliam has attempted just one pass this season, and he completed but for no yards.
