SEPT 24 BIG 12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: Caden Sterns, DB, Fr., Texas,…Sterns registered five tackles and 2 INTs in UT’s 31-16 victory over No. 17 TCU. He became the first Longhorn true freshman to record two interceptions in a game since 2015. The honor is the first for Sterns. – Big 12 Football

SEPT 17 BIG 12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gary Johnson, LB, Sr., Texas,…Johnson led the Longhorn defense with six tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a QB hurry in Texas’ 37-14 win over No. 22 USC. The weekly accolade was the second for Johnson. – Big 12 Football
