Kavontae Turpin – Important
TCU wide receiver KaVontae Turpin has been dismissed from the TCU team.
Head coach Gary Patterson said Turpin has been kicked off the squad, according to the Dallas Morning News, although Patterson also said he had not yet informed Turpin of the decision.
Turpin was second on the team in receptions (29), receiving yards (410) and receiving touchdowns (three). But he was even more important as a kick returner. He returned a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns this season, and his punt-return average of 19.4 yards per attempt is tied for the FBS lead.
