Cairo Santos – Important – Transaction
K Cairo Santos was signed by the Buccaneers Tuesday (Nov. 13). His contract had been terminated by the Rams Oct. 16. Santos (5-8, 160) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014. He played with Kansas City from 2014-17, before being waived and joining the Chicago Bears during the 2017 season. He spent time with the New York Jets this past offseason and played in two games for the Los Angeles Rams earlier this year. In his career, he has played in 55 games, connecting on 95-of-113 field goals (84.1 percent) and 132-of-188 extra points (95.7 percent).
Dare Ogunbowale – Noteworthy – Transaction
RB Dare Ogunbowale was signed by the Buccaneers from their practice squad Tuesday (Nov. 13). Ogunbowale (5-11, 205) has spent time on Tampa Bay’s practice squad this season. He originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Houston Texans in 2017 and spent time during the 2017 season on the practice squads of the Texans, Buccaneers and the Washington Redskins, while also appearing in two games for Washington.
Evan Smith – Noteworthy – Injury – Transaction
C/G Evan Smith (hip, wrist) was placed on reserve/injured by the Buccaneers Tuesday (Nov. 13). He is eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and can play after eight weeks, but only if the Bucs qualify for the playoffs.
Kevin Minter – Noteworthy – Transaction
LB Kevin Minter was signed by the Buccaneers Tuesday (Nov. 13). His contract had been terminated by the Bucs Oct. 30. Minter (6-0, 246), who played in one game for Tampa Bay earlier this season, originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (45th overall) of the Arizona Cardinals in the 2013 draft. He spent his first four seasons with Arizona (2013-16), before spending the 2017 season with the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent this past offseason and preseason with the New York Jets.
