Jamarius Way – Noteworthy
SEPT 17 SUN BELT OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jamarius Way, South Alabama (Sr., WR, Belle Glade, Fla.)…Jamarius Way caught 11 passes for 173 yards, both totals are the most recorded by anyone in the Sun Belt Conference thus far this season, and a touchdown to help South defeat Texas State in the league opener for both schools. The senior set a USA game record for receptions, while his yardage total was the second-highest posted in a game in program history as he finished with 100-plus yards for the third time since joining the team last fall. Way had a 54-yard catch to set up the Jags’ first touchdown of the contest, a 63-yarder that led to their next touchdown and then an 18-yard scoring reception for the final points of the night. Way became the ninth Jaguar to ever accumulate 1,000 receiving yards in a career, and he also moved into eighth place on the school’s all-time list as he now has 65 catches in just 15 outings. – Sun Belt Football

Tra Minter – Noteworthy
OCT 15 SUN BELT SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tra Minter, South Alabama (Jr., RB, Ellaville, Ga.)…Tra Minter scored on a 75-yard punt return after the Jaguars forced a three-and-out by Alabama State to open the second half of Saturday’s contest, the longest in school history and the first run back for a touchdown since Jeremé Jones’ 54-yard effort in the 2010 season opener. The junior finished the game with 88 yards, the second-highest total in the program’s record books, on three punt returns while adding a pair of kickoff returns for an additional 73 including a 45-yard effort after the Hornets only score of the contest that set up a 49-yard touchdown drive. Minter became just the second individual in program history to surpass 200 all-purpose yards in a game, ending up with a career-best 231 all-purpose yards. – Sun Belt Football
