Darrell Daniels – Noteworthy – Transaction
TE Darrell Daniels was signed by the Seahawks from their practice squad Wednesday (Oct. 3).
Doug Baldwin – Important
WR Doug Baldwin returned from a two-week absence battling an MCL injury to catch five passes for 41 yards in Arizona. He “came out of the game great,” according to head coach Pete Carroll, and the Seahawks will be upping his workload in practice this week with the expectation that he will play more snaps against the Rams.
Earl Thomas – Important – Injury – Transaction
S Earl Thomas (fractured leg) was placed on reserve/injured by the Seahawks Tuesday (Oct. 2). He is eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and can play after eight weeks.
Ethan Pocic – Important – Injury
OG Ethan Pocic was sidelined by an ankle injury the past two games, but thanks to strong back-to-back performances by veteran J.R. Sweezy, it doesn’t seem like he will immediately get his starting job back on the left side of Seattle’s line. Head coach Pete Carroll stated Pocic needed to make it through the practice week to play, and he didn’t foresee “any changes at all there” heading into Sunday’s game.
Jarran Reed – Noteworthy
DT Jarran Reed’s emergence in his third NFL season couldn’t have happened at a better time. The Seahawks need to find more consistency in the pass rushing department. Reed is best for his ability to stuff the run, but he surpassed his previous career-high in sacks during the last two games, recording three sacks in wins over the Cowboys and Cardinals.
Kalan Reed – Noteworthy – Transaction
CB Kalan Reed was signed by the Seahawks to their practice squad Wednesday (Oct. 3). He had been waived from reserve/injured with an injury settlement by the Titans Aug. 27.
Maurice Alexander – Noteworthy – Transaction
S Maurice Alexander was signed by the Seahawks Wednesday (Oct. 3). His contract had been terminated by the Seahawks Sept. 1.
Mike Davis – Noteworthy
RB Mike Davis should get plenty of touches after eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the first time in his NFL career against the Cardinals. Even with starting running back Chris Carson returning this week from a hip injury, Davis should get significant opportunities. Head coach Pete Carroll indicated “he needs to play,” and with Rashaad Penny also seeing snaps, Seattle appears to be heading towards a back-by-committee approach.
T.J. Green – Noteworthy – Transaction
S T.J. Green was signed by the Seahawks Wednesday (Oct. 3). He had been waived from reserve/injured with an injury settlement by the Colts Sept. 6.
Tre Flowers – Noteworthy
CB Tre Flowers earned an overall grade of 80.7, according to Pro Football Focus, and that ranked sixth among corners in the league last weekend. Head coach Pete Carroll has always demanded that his corners hit and tackle well in addition to playing coverage, and with four run stops and a forced fumble against the Cardinals, the fifth-round pick is “fitting the bill.”
Will Dissly – Important – Injury – Transaction
TE Will Dissley (knee) was placed on reserve/injured by the Seaahwks Tuesday (Oct. 2). He is eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and can play after eight weeks.
