*Tyvis Powell – Noteworthy – Transaction
S Tyvis Powell was signed by the 49ers to their practice squad Tuesday (Dec. 18). He had been waived by the 49ers Nov. 12 and released from the Jets practice squad Dec. 11. Powell (6-3, 211) also appeared in four games (one start) this season with the 49ers and registered five tackles and one forced fumble on defense in addition to one special teams tackle prior to being waived by the team. He was signed to the Jets practice squad on Dec. 4 and the released.
Ahkello Witherspoon – Important – Injury – Transaction
CB Ahkello Witherspoon (knee) was placed on reserve/injured by the 49ers Tuesday (Dec. 18). He will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Witherspoon (6-3, 195) appeared in 14 games (12 starts) this season with the 49ers and registered a career-high 37 tackles and four passes defensed.
