Purdue player notes for Feb 28th, 2019

Markus Bailey – Noteworthy
If you were looking for the marquee names from Purdue’s football program on the first day of spring practice, several were missing. No Rondale Moore. No Markus Bailey. No Brycen Hopkins. No Derrick Barnes. No Richie Worship. Most of the household names sat out Monday’s workout. The biggest news from Monday – Bailey, the team’s best defensive player, won’t participate in spring practice. He underwent surgery to repair a hip/labrum issue but will be back for summer workouts and training camp. Bailey’s health is more important than additional snaps at this point of his career. “He’s way ahead of schedule,” coach Jeff Brohm said. As far as Moore (illness), Hopkins (back) and Barnes (hamstring), they’re expected to join practice soon, maybe by the end of the week. Worship (knee) probably won’t play this spring. – Journal and Courier
