Philadelphia Eagles player notes for Sep 18th, 2018

Carson Wentz – Important – Injury
QB Carson Wentz has been medically cleared for contact and will start in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts, the team announced Monday. Wentz is approximately nine months removed from sustaining a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 10. “He’s ready, ready to take the reins again and move forward,” coach Doug Pederson said Monday.

Jason Peters – Important – Injury
OT Jason Peters tweaked a quad muscle on Sunday and played just eight snaps against Tampa Bay. Pederson said the 36-year-old Peters is day-to-day.

Mike Wallace – Important – Injury
WR Mike Wallace sustained a fractured fibula in his right leg and will miss a few weeks, Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Monday. Wallace, who signed a one-year deal in the offseason, isn’t expected to be placed on injured reserve right away. “We’re still going to evaluate,” Pederson said. “(We will) have a few more tests in the next few days, but we know exactly it’s a fracture. That’s going to be a couple weeks.”

Nick Foles – Noteworthy
QB Nick Foles will return to his role on Sunday as the backup while Carson Wentz prepares to be under center for the Eagles (1-1) in their game against the Indianapolis Colts (1-1). Foles led the franchise to its only Super Bowl victory with a 41-33 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. “The greatest thing for me is that (quarterback) room has no egos, and Nick all along has understood that this is Carson’s football team,” coach Doug Pederson said. “We drafted Carson to be the guy. We owe a lot of gratitude to Nick Foles for what he’s done, what he has done, what he’s done this season and how he’s led this football team. He’s a pro’s pro.”
