Kyler Murray – Noteworthy
Three Big 12 football student-athletes have been named finalists for major national awards. Kyler Murray (Oklahoma), Tylan Wallace (Oklahoma State) and Will Grier (West Virginia) received recognition among college football’s top performers. Wallace has been named one of three national finalists for the 2018 Biletnikoff Award. This prestigious award annually recognizes the most outstanding receiver in college football, regardless of position. Wallace leads the nation in 10-yard catches, yards per reception, 100-yard and 200-yard games.
Murray and Grier were named finalists for the 82nd Maxwell Award for the Collegiate Player of the Year. Murray has completed 72 percent of his passes and rushed for 846 yards and 10 touchdowns while leading the Sooners to a 10-1 record and a No. 6 national ranking. Grier has passed for 3,325 yards and 33 touchdowns, leading the Mountaineers to a No. 12 national ranking. Murray is also in the running for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. The junior, who has amassed more than 4,000 total yards of offense, is OU’s fourth straight Davey O’Brien finalist.
