Marshall Newhouse – Important – Transaction
T Marshall Newhouse was traded by the Bills to the Panthers Wednesday (Sept. 26) for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2021 draft. Newhouse is in his ninth season in the NFL after Green Bay selected him in the fifth round of the 2010 Draft out of TCU. He has played in 103 career games with 70 starts, including the first three games of the 2018 season with Buffalo. He began his career with four seasons in Green Bay (2010-13), playing in 47 games with 31 starts for the Packers. He also spent time with Oakland (2017), the New York Giants (2015-16) and Cincinnati (2014).

Matthew McCrane – Noteworthy – Transaction
K Matthew McCrane was signed by the Raiders Wednesday (Sept. 26). He had been waived by the Cardinals Sept. 1. McCrane, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound rookie kicker, enters his first season in the NFL after signing with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent following the conclusion of the 2018 NFL Draft. McCrane connected on all four of his field-goal attempts in preseason action, including makes from 53 and 54 yards out, while also being true on all three PATs.

A native of Brownwood, Texas, McCrane was a three-time All-Big 12 performer at Kansas State, becoming the first kicker in school history with three all-conference honors. Over his four-year career, he made 57-of-66 field-goal (88.4 percent) attempts and connected on 133-of-134 PATs. His 88.4 percent career average ranks second in Big 12 history and sixth in NCAA lore. McCrane’s 304 career points placed him as the Wildcat’s all-time scoring leader.

Mike Nugent – Important – Injury – Transaction
K Mike Nugent (hip) was placed on reserve/injured by the Raiders Wednesday (Sept. 26). He is eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and can play after eight weeks.
