Oakland Raiders player notes for Nov 27th, 2018


Chaz Green – Noteworthy – Transaction
G/T Chaz Green was signed by the Raiders Tuesday (Nov. 27). He had been waived by the Saints Nov. 21. Green, a 6-foot-5, 318-pound guard is a former third-round selection (91st overall) out of Florida by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2015 NFL Draft. Over his three seasons with the club, Green appeared in 18 contests and made six starts for the Cowboys. The Tampa, Fla., native most recently had a short stint on the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad but has not appeared in game action in 2018.

Darren Waller – Noteworthy – Transaction
TE Darren Waller was signed by the Raiders from the Ravens practice squad Tuesday (Nov. 27). Waller, a 6-foot-6, 255-pound tight end out of Georgia Tech, was originally drafted in the sixth round (240th overall) by the Ravens in the 2015 draft as a wide receiver. Waller spent three seasons with the club, appearing in 18 contests and making four starts, while tallying 12 receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns. A native of Landover, Md., Waller has spent the 2018 campaign on Baltimore’s practice squad.

Jacquies Smith – Noteworthy – Injury – Transaction
DE Jacquies Smith (Achilles) was placed on reserve/injured by the Raiders Tuesday (Nov. 27). While he would normally eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and playing in eight weeks, the first game he would be available would be the Super Bowl. Smith signed as a free agent ahead of Week 10 and appeared in three contests for the Raiders this season.
