Oakland Raiders player notes for Dec 2nd, 2018


Justin Ellis – Important – Injury – Transaction
DT Justin Ellis was activated from reserve/injured; designated for return by the Raiders Saturday (Dec. 1). Ellis, a run-stuffing 6-foot-2, 335-pound defensive tackle now in his fifth year with the Raiders, returns to the active roster having appeared in 60 games and making 41 starts. Over his career, he has totaled 134 tackles (82 solo), 0.5 sacks and three passes defensed. Last season, he appeared in all 16 contests for the second consecutive season and made 14 starts, collecting a career-high 44 stops (30) in addition to his first career half-sack.

Leon Hall – Important – Injury – Transaction
CB Leon Hall (back) was placed on reserve/injured by the Raiders Friday (Nov. 30). While he would normally eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and playing in eight weeks, the first game he would be available would be the Super Bowl. Signed as an unrestricted free agent this past March, Hall appeared in 10 games this season and made four starts, compiling 25 tackles (22 solo) and three passes defensed. Over his 12-year career, Hall appeared in 152 games with 112 starts, recorded 588 stops (437), two sacks, 27 interceptions with three returned for touchdowns, 118 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and 10 fumble recoveries.

Montrel Meander – Noteworthy – Transaction
CB Montrel Meander was signed by the Raiders from the Browns practice squad Friday (Nov. 30). Meander, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound cornerback, was originally signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent. Meander spent the offseason with the Browns and made the team’s practice squad following the conclusion of the preseason, where he has spent the first 12 weeks of his rookie campaign.
