Brandon Marshall – Important – Transaction
WR Brandon Marshall was waived by the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced Tuesday.
The 34-year-old Marshall “absolutely” wants to keep playing, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Finding a team interested in signing him will be the challenge. Marshall signed a one-year, $1.1 million deal with Seattle in May when the Seahawks were needed depth at the wide receiver spot. Marshall started two games early this season, and he had nine receptions for 120 yards through his first three games. But he has only two receptions for 16 yards since as his playing time has dwindled. He played just two offensive snaps against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
He has 11 catches for 136 yards for the season.
Marshall has been named to the Pro Bowl six times, the most recent being the 2015 season, when he had 109 receptions for 1,502 yards and a league-best 14 touchdowns for the New York Jets.
