*Tyvis Powell – Noteworthy – Transaction
DB Tyvis Powell was placed on waivers by the 49ers Monday (Nov. 12). Powell (6-3, 211) appeared in four games (one start) this season and registered five tackles and one forced fumble on defense in addition to one special teams tackle.
Chandler Catanzaro – Important – Transaction
K Chandler Catanzaro was waived by the Buccaneers, the team announced Monday. On Sunday he missed a pair of field goals in Tampa Bay’s 16-3 loss to the Washington Redskins.He had signed a three-year contract with the Bucs in the offseason, but he did not make it through the first year of the deal. Catanzaro was 11 of 15 on field goals and 23 of 27 on extra points overall this season.
CJ Anderson – Important – Transaction
RB C.J. Anderson was released by the Panthers, the team announced Monday. Anderson played in all nine games for the Panthers this season, and had one start. He totaled 104 rushing yards on 24 carries and had one reception for 24 yards and touchdowns. However, his playing time had been shrinking lately. Anderson had two carries for minus-1 yard in Thursday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and had just one carry for 1 yard in the Nov. 4 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 27-year-old Anderson is in his sixth NFL season. Anderson signed with the Panthers as a free agent in May after five seasons (2013-17) with the Denver Broncos. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2014, and he rushed for a career-high 1,007 yards for the Broncos last season, when he started all 16 games. But the Broncos released Anderson in April.
