G Ben Braden was signed to the active roster from the practice squad Wednesday.
He spent all of last season on New York’s practice squad after joining the team as an undrafted free agent from Michigan following the 2017 draft.
James Carpenter – Noteworthy – Injury – Transaction
LG James Carpenter was placed on the injured reserve list with a shoulder injury, effectively ending his season. Since signing with the Jets in free agency following the 2014 season, Carpenter started 58 straight games before getting hurt in the Buffalo game. The shoulder injury first appeared in the Minnesota loss and he sat out last week.

CB Morris Claiborne was limited in practice Wednesday with a shoulder injury.

WR Robby Anderson sat out practice Wednesday with a nagging ankle injury. He also missed the Wednesday practice before playing in the New England game.

QB Sam Darnold was limited in practice with a foot injury. If he plays, it will be determined how he appears in subsequent practices beyond Wednesday.

QB Sam Darnold participated in practice on Wednesday, marking his first active work since sustaining a foot injury. Darnold took part in positional drills, multiple media outlets reported. Last week, the 21-year-old showed up at practice in pads and a helmet, but did not participate. Josh McCown has been under center in the last two games for the Jets (3-8), who have dropped five in a row heading into Sunday’s road contest against the Tennessee Titans (5-6).
