Calvin Munson – Noteworthy – Transaction
LB Calvin Munson was signed by the Patriots to the practice squad Monday (Oct. 8). He had been released by the Giants from the practice squad Sept. 13. Munson, 23, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent out of San Diego State with the New York Giants last season. The 6-foot, 243-pounder made the Giants 53-man roster and played in 14 games with five starts, finishing with 35 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble. Munson was released by the Giants on Sept. 1, 2018, and spent time this season on the Giants practice squad.
Frank Herron – Noteworthy – Transaction
DL Frank Herron was signed by the Patriots to their practice squad Monday (Oct. 8). Herron, 24, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Louisiana State on May 11, 2018. The 6-foot-4, 312-pounder, was waived by the Patriots on Aug. 31, signed by Seattle to the practice squad on Sept. 3 and released by Seattle on Sept. 11.
Kenjon Barner – Noteworthy – Transaction
RB Kenjon Barner was signed by the Patriots Monday (Oct. 8). Barner, 29, is in his third stint on the New England 53-man roster. He was most recently released from the team on Oct. 4, 2018. Barner saw action in the Patriots win vs. Miami in Sept. 30, and finished with three rushing attempts for 11 yards. The 5-foot-9, 195-pounder was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round (182nd overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Oregon. Barner was most recently with the Carolina Panthers through training camp this summer and has also had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers. He has appeared in 45 regular-season games with one start and totaled 80 rushing attempts for 328 yards with three touchdowns and 21 receptions for 127 yards. He has also returned 30 punts for 259 yards and 22 kickoffs for 498 yards. Barner has appeared in four postseason contests as a reserve and tallied one punt return for 10 yards and five kickoffs for 115 yards.
