Jaleel Johnson – Noteworthy
DT Jaleel Johnson made his first NFL start in place of the injured Linval Joseph. Johnson tied for second on the team with four total tackles against the New York Jets and he added a half-sack, the first of his career.
Adam Thielen – Noteworthy
WR Adam Thielen tied the NFL record with his seventh 100-yard receiving game to start the season. He is just the second player in NFL history behind Houston’s Charley Hennigan in 1961 to have at least 100 yards receiving in the first seven games of a season. Hennigan’s streak ended at seven. Thielen has 67 catches this season, an NFL record for the most through seven games of a season.
Anthony Barr – Noteworthy – Injury
LB Anthony Barr left Sunday’s game against the Jets with a hamstring injury. Coach Mike Zimmer didn’t have any update on Barr’s status on Monday.
Holton Hill – Noteworthy
CB Holton Hill had the first interception of his career in Sunday’s game against New York. Replacing the injured Xavier Rhodes, Hill intercepted an overthrown pass from Jets quarterback Sam Darnold. Hill has become a role player for Minnesota with rookie Mike Hughes out for the season after tearing his ACL. Hill was undrafted this year out of Texas but made the Vikings out of training camp. He also has taken over for Hughes as the team’s top kickoff returner.
Jayln Holmes – Noteworthy
DL Jalyn Holmes had the first sack of his career Sunday against the Jets while playing in a backup role at defensive end. The fourth-round draft pick out of Ohio State had been groomed inside as a pass-rushing tackle but has had to move outside with Minnesota short at defensive end because of injuries.
Tom Compton – Noteworthy – Injury
OL Tom Compton left Sunday’s game with a knee injury. Coach Mike Zimmer didn’t have any update on Compton’s status on Monday. Danny Isidora took over for Compton in Sunday’s game.
Xavier Rhodes – Noteworthy – Injury
CB Xavier Rhodes left Sunday’s game against the Jets with an ankle injury, according to coach Mike Zimmer. Zimmer didn’t have any update on Rhodes’ status on Monday.
