Luke Falk – Noteworthy – Injury – Transaction
QB Luke Falk (left wrist) was placed on reserve/injured by the Dolphins Saturday (Oct. 6). He is eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and can play after eight weeks. Falk was awarded to the Dolphins off waivers from Tennessee on Sept. 2, 2018. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (199th overall) by Tennessee in the 2018 NFL draft. Falk was a four-year letterman (2014-17) and three-year starter for Washington State, where he played in 43 career games with 40 starts. He finished his career as Washington State and the Pac-12 Conference’s all-time leading passer (14,481 yards). He also set career school and conference records for total offense (14,086), passing touchdowns (119), completions (1,403), pass attempts (2,055) and total plays (2,306).
Nick O’Leary – Noteworthy – Transaction
TE Nick O’Leary was signed by the Dolphins from their practice squad Saturday (Oct. 6). O’Leary joined the Dolphins practice squad on Sept. 19, 2018. He played three seasons with Buffalo (2015-17) and appeared in 35 games with 12 starts. O’Leary has 32 career receptions for 473 yards (14.8 avg.) and two touchdowns. He also caught two passes in Buffalo’s AFC Wild Card game on Jan. 7, 2018 at Jacksonville. O’Leary originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (194th overall) by Buffalo in the 2015 NFL draft. A native of Palm Beach, Florida, he was a four-year letterman (2011-14) and three-year starter at Florida State.
Jakeem Grant – Noteworthy
PR Jakeem Grant returned a punt 71 yards for a touchdown and the Dolphins had a 14-0 lead at intermission.
Ryan Tannehill – Noteworthy
QB Ryan Tannehill finished 20 of 35 for 185 yards and one touchdown and two interceptions. Tannehill has struggled in two straight games and calls for his benching followed quickly after the game.
“Yeah. Yeah. Yeah,” coach Adam Gase told the Miami Herald. “We just got to get a lot of things cleaned up. I mean, he’s getting hit too much. I got to find a way to get the ball out of his hands — either get the good guys open quicker or figure something else out.
Miami had taken a 7-0 lead when Tannehill and Kenyan Drake hooked up for a 22-yard score midway through the second period.
