OCT 22 MAC WEST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Eastern Michigan QB Tyler Wiegers…Eastern Michigan senior quarterback Tyler Wiegers (Lake Orion, Mich.) registered 257 yards on 22-for-28 passing and three touchdowns in stiff wind conditions and ran for another in a 42-20 win at Ball State. Wiegers’ 78.6 completion percentage ranks second-best in Eastern Michigan single-game history, behind his 85.7 clip against Monmouth earlier this year. Wiegers scored on a keeper from the one-yard line with 24 seconds left in the half to push the advantage to 21-6. It was the first rushing touchdown of his career. His performance marked the first time an Eastern Michigan signal caller had thrown for three scores in a contest since Brogan Roback on Nov. 2, 2017 vs. Ball State. Wiegers leads the MAC while ranking 22nd nationally in completion percentage at 66.0 percent. Despite splitting time under center, he also ranks eighth in the MAC in passing touchdowns (8), as well as sixth in passing yards per completion (11.85). – MAC Football
