Marvin Jones Jr. – Important – Transaction
WR Marvin Jones Jr. is having his contract restructured by the Lions to save about $2.2 million in cap space, ESPN reported Tuesday. The Lions had already cleared about $3.7 million by sending Golden Tate to Philadelphia. Currently, before restructuring, Jones is in the third year of a five-year contract and is scheduled to make a $7 million base salary and count $8.6 million against the cap. He has made 26 catches for 387 yards and five touchdowns this season. Jones had his best game of the season in Sunday’s 28-14 loss to Seattle, recording seven receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns.
