Detroit Lions player notes for Nov 18th, 2018

Andy Jones – Noteworthy – Transaction
WR Andy Jones was signed by the Lions from the practice squad Saturday (Nov. 17). Jones began the 2018 season on the club’s reserve/physically unable to perform list before being elevated to the active roster and appearing in the team’s Week 9 contest at Minnesota. He came to the Lions in 2017 as a member of the practice squad following stints with the Houston Texans (2017) and Dallas Cowboys (2016). Jones originally entered the NFL in 2016 with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville.

Marvin Jones Jr. – Important – Injury
WR Marvin Jones has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Jones did not practice all week due to a right knee injury he sustained in last weekend’s 34-22 loss to the Chicago Bears. ESPN reported Friday that Jones was receiving a second opinion on the knee, which it termed a bone bruise.

Nicholas Grigsby – Noteworthy – Transaction
LB Nicholas Grigsby was signed by the Lions to their practice squad Saturday (Nov. 17). He had been waived by the Patriots Tuesday. Grigsby comes to Detroit after most recently spending time with the New England Patriots where he appeared in nine games with four tackles this season. He originally entered the NFL in 2016 as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams out of Pittsburgh and appeared in six games with Los Angeles. His career totals include four tackles (three solo) in 20 games.
