Detroit Lions player notes for Nov 16th, 2018

Marvin Jones – Noteworthy – Injury
WR Marvin Jones of the Detroit Lions is seeking a second opinion on what was diagnosed as only a bone bruise in his right knee because he is not getting better, ESPN reported on Friday.
The Lions declared him out of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Jones, who sustained the injury in the second half of last week’s game against the Chicago Bears, was listed as day-to-day early in the week, but did not practice all week and reportedly is experiencing significant pain in the knee. The original diagnosis was that Jones did not suffer an injury to his MCL and ACL, making the Lions believe that he would recover fairly quickly, but that has not happened. Jones has caught 35 passes for 508 yards and five touchdowns this season.

Marvin Jones Jr. – Important – Injury
WR Marvin Jones missed a third straight day of practice Friday, putting his availability in doubt for Sunday’s home game against the Carolina Panthers. Jones suffered a right knee injury in last week’s 34-22 loss at the Chicago Bears. ESPN reported Friday that Jones was receiving a second opinion on the knee, which it termed a bone bruise. Jones, in his third season with Detroit and sixth overall, has 35 receptions for 508 yards and five touchdowns.
