Detroit Lions player notes for Nov 15th, 2018


David Jones – Noteworthy – Transaction
S David Jones was signed by the Lions to the practice squad Wednesday (Nov. 14). He had been released by the Patriots from the practice squad Nov. 8. Jones come to Detroit after spending time with the New England Patriots over the past two seasons (2017-18), including his most recent stint on New England’s practice squad in 2018. He originally entered the NFL with the Patriots in 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of Richmond.

Marvin Jones Jr. – Important – Injury
WR Marvin Jones Jr. missed practice Wednesday and his status for Sunday’s game against the Panthers is uncertain because of a bone bruise in his right knee. Jones has played in 40 of a possible 41 games in his 2.5 seasons with the Lions and currently leads the team with five touchdown catches.

Matthew Stafford – Noteworthy
QB Matthew Stafford has been sacked 16 times in the last two games and is now on pace to be sacked a career-high 52 times this year. Stafford was sacked 47 times last season.

Michael Roberts – Noteworthy – Injury
TE Michael Roberts is expected to miss Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury, but the Lions could get TE Luke Willson (shoulder) back after he sat out the Bears game.

Mike Ford – Noteworthy – Transaction
CB Mike Ford was signed by the Lions from their practice squad Wednesday (Nov. 14). Ford joins the team’s active roster after beginning his rookie season on the Lions practice squad in 2018. He originally came to Detroit this season as an undrafted free agent out of Southeast Missouri.

T.J. Lang – Important – Injury – Transaction
G T.J. Lang was placed on reserve/injured by the Lions Wednesday (Nov. 14). He is eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and can play after eight weeks, but only if the Lions qualify for the playoffs.
