*Joe Mixon – Noteworthy – Injury
RB Joe Mixon made his first appearance on the practice field Wednesday following his recent arthroscopic knee surgery.
Mixon did not participate fully in practice and stretched with only his helmet with no pads before heading to the rehab field.
A.J. Green – Noteworthy – Injury
WR A.J. Green might be able to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons after sustaining a groin injury last week against the Carolina Panthers.
Green sustained a groin injury while attempting to make a leaping catch over the middle in the third quarter and did not return to the game. Head coach Marvin Lewis told reporters on Wednesday that Green responded favorably to the anti-inflammatories he used to rehab the injury. The 30-year-old Green was spotted on the field for Wednesday’s practice and went through stretching exercises with his teammates before doing rehab work on the side. “Well, he’ll be ready to go,” Lewis said of Sunday’s game, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Michael Johnson – Noteworthy – Injury
DE Michael Johnson could play this week after missing the last two games due to a sprained knee. Unlike last week when he was limited in practice, Johnson was in pads for practice on Wednesday.
Preston Brown – Noteworthy – Injury
LB Preston Brown might return for Week 4 after missing the first two games of his career because of an ankle injury.
He was injured in the season-opening win at Indianapolis and at Wednesday’s practice appeared in pads.
Ryan Glasgow – Noteworthy – Injury
DT Ryan Glasgow was declared out for the season because of an ACL tear after getting hurt in Sunday’s 31-21 loss at Carolina.
Glasgow might have more knowledge of the arduous rehab process awaiting him since his parents work the Midwest Orthopedic Institute in DeKalb, Ill. Last year as a rookie, he appeared in 36 percent of defensive snaps but this year the former fourth-round pick recorded 11 tackles and was trying to get a 12th before going down with about seven minutes left in the game.
