Damiere Byrd – Important – Injury – Transaction
WR Damiere Byrd (broken arm) was placed on reserve/injured by the Panthers Tuesday (Nov. 27). While he would normally eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and playing in eight weeks, the first game he would be available would be the Super Bowl. Byrd has 12 career receptions for 129 yards and two receiving touchdowns. This season, he had 11 punt returns for 104 yards and two kickoff returns for 34 yards. Last season, he had a 103-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, the longest in franchise history.

WR/KR Damiere Byrd is expected to be placed on injured reserve after he sustained a broken arm in the team’s last game, according to a published report Tuesday. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the expected move, citing sources, after Byrd was injured in Sunday’s 30-27 setback to the Seattle Seahawks. Byrd, who has just one reception for eight yards this season, has played a significantly larger role on special teams. The 25-year-old has averaged 9.4 yards on 11 punt returns this season.

Byrd was injured in Sunday’s 30-27 setback to the Seattle Seahawks. Byrd scored on a franchise-best 103-yard kickoff return in a 22-19 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 24. He was then injured and carted to the locker room just after halftime.

Lorenzo Doss – Noteworthy – Transaction
CB Lorenzo Doss was signed by the Panthers from their practice squad Tuesday (Nov. 27). Doss played in one game earlier this season in Week 2 at Atlanta, tallying one special teams tackle. He had previously played in six games with Denver in 2016.
