Cam Newton – Noteworthy – Injury
QB Cam Newton was limited in practice again on Wednesday because of discomfort in his right shoulder, but that doesn’t necessary mean he will miss Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Newton did not throw during the portion of practice open to the media, but said that he will continue to play through the pain. “I’m healthy enough to play and I’m not going to let nothing hold me back.” Newton said via Max Henson of the Panthers’ official website. ” … You have to learn how to manage pain. You’ve just got to live with it. Father Time ain’t nobody’s friend.” Newton, who had surgery on the shoulder last year, tied a career high by throwing four interceptions and was sacked four times last Sunday as the Panthers (6-6) lost their fourth consecutive game, 24-17, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Ron Rivera didn’t commit when asked if Newton would start against the Browns.

WR DeAndrew White was signed by the Panthers to the practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 5). He had been released by the Panthers from the practice squad Oct. 1
Devin Funchess – Noteworthy – Injury
WR Devin Funchess was in action again at Tampa Bay after missing the previous game with a back injury. He only made one catch for 10 yards, though he was on the receiving end of a would-be touchdown pass if that hadn’t been negated by a penalty. His one catch represented a season-low.
Greg Olsen – Important – Injury – Transaction
TE Greg Olsen (foot) was placed on reserve/injured by the Panthers Wednesday (Dec. 5).
Kai Nacua – Noteworthy – Transaction
S Kai Nacua was signed by the Panthers to the practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 5). He had been released by the Ravens from the practice squad Oct. 16.
Luke Kuechly – Noteworthy
LB Luke Kuechly’s fumble recovery last week gives him 24 career takeaways in seven seasons. With 918 career tackles, Kuechly has the most stops of any NFL player through the first seven seasons of a career.
Mose Frazier – Noteworthy – Transaction
WR Mose Frazier was added to the active roster Wednesday to replace TE Greg Olsen. Frazier has spent most of the 2017 and 2018 seasons on the team’s practice squad, though he was activated for a pair of games last season.
