Greg Olsen – Important – Injury
TE Greg Olsen is finished for the season and will be placed on injured reserve with a foot injury, the Charlotte Observer reported Tuesday. This is not a surprise since Olsen had said earlier that he believed his season was over after he tore the plantar fascia in his right foot in Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers. It is the same foot that has caused him so much trouble.
Olsen missed nine games last year with a Jones fracture in his right foot, and he missed three games early this season with the same problem in the same foot. He had just 17 receptions for 191 yards last season when he played in seven games, and he had 27 catches for 291 yards and four touchdowns in nine games this season. Olsen, 33, signed a contract extension last April that goes through the 2020 season, and it is unclear what Olsen’s future holds.
