Jalen Hurd – Noteworthy
Connor Martin kicked a 29-yard field goal with eight seconds left to give Baylor a 37-34 victory over Kansas State on Saturday. Martin missed three field goals and an extra point, but his third made field goal in the game counted the most for Baylor (4-2, 2-1 Big 12). Jalen Hurd had 11 catches for 135 yards, and the former Tennessee running back also ran for 56 yards and a touchdown for the Bears, who last year won only once in coach Matt Rhule’s first season. Trestan Ebner ran for 100 yards, and Charlie Brewer was 30-for-44 passing for 296 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Alex Barnes ran 22 times for 250 yards and three touchdowns for Kansas State (2-4, 0-3). Barnes opened the fourth quarter with a 48-yard TD run that tied the game at 20 before the Wildcats’ extra point was blocked.
