Andre Smith – Noteworthy
RT Andre Smith (elbow) returned to practice after missing last week’s game against the Rams, but it remained uncertain if he would get the start on Sunday against the Bears or if backup John Wetzel would make a second straight start instead.
Joe Walker – Noteworthy
LB Joe Walker was signed off the Eagles’ practice squad on Wednesday. Walker played in 12 games for the Super Bowl champions last season, including three starts. He finished with 10 tackles and added three more on special teams. He was a seventh-round pick out of Oregon in 2016. Walker spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve because a knee issue.
Larry Fitzgerald – Noteworthy – Injury
WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) was not a full participant in practice on Wednesday, although coach Steve Wilks fully expects the veteran to play against Chicago.
Nigel Harris – Noteworthy – Transaction
LB Nigel Harris was signed by the Cardinals to the practice squad Tuesday (Sept. 18). He had been waived by the Buccaneers Sept 1. Harris (6-2, 225) played in eight total games last season with the Chargers, Giants and Buccaneers after entering the league with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted rookie free agent from South Florida. The 23-year old Harris played in five games with the Chargers and started one contest before being claimed off waivers by the Giants where he appeared in two games. He then signed with Tampa Bay and played in one game with the Buccaneers. Harris was released by Tampa Bay on September 2 following the preseason. While at South Florida, Harris played in 47 games and had 232 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
Patrick Peterson – Noteworthy
CB Patrick Peterson’s interception last week against the Rams marked his seventh in his career against the Rams. No active player has more interceptions against a single opponent than Peterson does against Los Angeles.
