Arizona Cardinals player notes for Nov 7th, 2018

Chad Williams – Noteworthy – Injury
WR Chad Williams is dealing with an ankle issue and did not practice on Wednesday.

Justin Pugh – Noteworthy
RG Justin Pugh (hand) practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, a good sign that he should be able to play Sunday against the Chiefs.

Larry Fitzgerald – Noteworthy
WR Larry Fitzgerald is in his 15th NFL season and playing on a struggling team like the Cardinals this year hasn’t been easy. That hasn’t stopped the veteran from showing up every single day and continuing to give his all in practice. “When you look back over his career, there’ve been some bumps in the road here before, but it doesn’t shatter his character,” head coach Steve Wilks said. “Meaning right now, he’s not going to sit here and take the backseat. He’s still up front. He works hard just as he did Day 1. I think that’s an example and a testament to his commitment.” Having the opportunity to coach Fitzgerald is something Wilks said he will never forget. “It’s glorifying, but most importantly, what I look at, I look at the person because I’m trying to figure out exactly the things that he’s bringing to the table outside of football,” he said. “What he does in that locker room, what he does in this community, most importantly, he’s just a pillar of the National Football League itself. It’s great to be around him. It’s great that he’s on the team, particularly for a first-year head coach like myself, having that kind of voice in the locker room. It’s a major help.”

Mike Iupati – Noteworthy
LG Mike Iupati (back) practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, a good sign that both starters should be able to play Sunday against the Chiefs.

Montay Crockett – Noteworthy – Transaction
WR Montay Crockett was signed by the Cardinals to their practice squad Wednesday (Nov. 7). He had been waived by the Jaguars Sept. 1. Crockett (6-0, 184) entered the league with Green Bay as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2017 out of Georgia Southern and spent time on Jacksonville’s practice squad last year before being elevated to the Jaguars active roster where he was inactive for two games.

Tre Boston – Noteworthy – Injury
S Tre Boston, who has been battling ribs and shoulder problems, practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday and told reporters he’s hoping to play at Kansas City on Sunday.
