S Budda Baker (knee) was held out of practice on Wednesday for rest and precautionary reasons but hopes he’s able to play this Sunday at home against the Lions. “The trainers are doing everything they can to help me out,” Baker said. “Hopefully, I’ll be out there.”
*Malachi Dupre – Noteworthy – Transaction
WR Malachi Dupre was signed by the Cardinals to the practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 5). He had been released by the Seahawks from the practice squad Nov. 27. Dupre (6-2, 196) has spent time on the practice squads of the Bills, Texans and Seahawks after entering the league with the Packers as a seventh-round selection (247th overall) in the 2017 draft out of LSU. He spent the majority of his rookie season on Buffalo’s practice squad and was elevated to the Bills active roster, but didn’t play. The 23-year old Dupre has been with the Texans and Seahawks this season.
Chad Williams – Noteworthy – Injury
WR Chad Williams, who has missed the past four games with an ankle injury, should be able to return to the lineup this week, according to head coach Steve Wilks.
D.J. Humphries – Noteworthy – Transaction
OT D.J. Humphries was placed on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday. Humphries, who was a first-round pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, started the first nine games of the year before being sidelined by a right knee injury.
Denver Kirkland – Noteworthy – Transaction
G/T Denver Kirkland was signed by the Cardinals to their practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 5). He had been waived by the raiders Saturday. Kirkland (6-4, 335) began this season on the Raiders practice squad prior to being elevated to Oakland’s active roster where he played in one game and was inactive for four others. He played in six games (four starts) with Oakland as a rookie after entering the league in 2016 with the Raiders as an undrafted rookie free agent from Arkansas. The 24-year old Kirkland spent the 2017 season on injured reserve with the Raiders.
Deone Bucannon – Noteworthy – Injury
LB Deone Bucannon (chest) did not practice and figures to be questionable for Sunday’s game against Detroit.
Joe Barksdale – Noteworthy – Transaction
OT Joe Barksdale was signed by the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Wednesday. Barksdale was released by the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday after missing the team’s 33-30 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous night due to personal reasons. “We thought it was best for Joe and best for the Chargers,” Los Angeles coach Anthony Lynn said of the move to part ways with Barksdale. The 6-foot-5, 326-pound Barksdale was a former starter at right tackle who losing his job to Sam Tevi with the Chargers. Barksdale, 29, is an eight-year NFL veteran who has played in 102 games (74 starts) in his career with the Oakland Raiders (2011), then-St. Louis Rams (2012-14) and Chargers (2015-18).
Pasoni Tasini – Noteworthy – Transaction
DT Pasoni Tasini was signed by the Cardinals to the practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 5). He had been released by the Cardunals from the practice squad Oct. 30. Tasini (6-3, 307) re-joins the Cardinals after spending the first eight weeks of the season on Arizona’s practice squad. He spent his entire rookie season on the Cardinals practice squad after originally joining the team in 2017 as an undrafted rookie free agent from Utah.
Rees Odhiambo – Noteworthy – Transaction
G Rees Odhiambo was signed by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, the team announced. Odhiambo started seven games for the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 before a hand injury ended his season. Earlier this season, the 6-4, 315-pound Odhiambo was signed to the Atlanta Falcons’ active roster off the Colts’ practice squad before being released.
