GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Purdue has been awful at defending the run for two weeks in a row. It’s perhaps not a coincidence that the Boilermakers also have lost two games in a row. Indiana’s Stevie Scott usually finds room to run thanks to the Indiana spread offense, a look that Purdue has had mixed success against. If the Boilermakers can’t control Scott, it’s going to have to hope the offense is at its peak and it wins a shootout.
DRAFT SLANT
–RB D.J. Knox enters the week with 826 rushing yards. If he gets the 174 yards he needs against Indiana in the regular-season finale, it’s a good bet that he’ll get to play in a bowl game as well. But he hasn’t broken the 40-yard barrier in each of the last two games, both of which were Boilermaker losses.
ROSTER REPORT:
–LB Cornel Jones left the Wisconsin game early with an undisclosed injury. He is expected to be available for Indiana.
–DT Keiwan Jones had to exit against Wisconsin with an injury. He expects to play in the regular-season finale against Indiana.
–S Jacob Thieneman suffered a shoulder injury in the loss to Minnesota. He’ll miss his second game in a row this week, and it would be a long shot to see him in a bowl game.
