GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Wake Forest WR Greg Dortch vs. Pittsburgh’s secondary. Dortch is a major threat and his speed causes opponents problems. He seems to have a good burst left even late in the season, though he missed last November with an injury. The Demon Deacons might be a bit more selective in the passing attack while limiting the times they go to a fast-paced approach. The Panthers have had trouble at times on pass defense, giving up 21 touchdowns through the air so far. Pittsburgh has allowed 244.9 passing yards per game.
DRAFT SLANT
–C Ryan Anderson has started 39 consecutive games. He’s capable of shifting to guard or tackle if that’s what the Demon Deacons need. His stock began to rise last year as the Demon Deacons racked up record yardage totals and now scouts will have a chance to zero in on him to see what he’s doing so well on a regular basis.
ROSTER REPORT
–QB/WR Kendall Hinton is listed as slated to go through Senior Day activities for the Pittsburgh game even though he’ll have eligibility remaining beyond this season. He’s in line to graduate.
–WR Scotty Washington had two receptions for 14 yards against North Carolina State. He was put into the game on defense for the final play when the Wolfpack was making a heave to the end zone, and Washington came up with a game-ending interception.
–DE Carlos Basham, who scored on a fumble return in October at Louisville, was back for the N.C. State game after missing the previous outing because he entered the concussion protocol. Basham responded by making five tackles against N.C. State.
