GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Utah’s defense should be primed for a good performance against a Colorado team that mustered only a touchdown against Washington State last week. The Utes are allowing only 323.7 yards per game, which ranks No. 3 in the Pac-12. Utah is particularly strong against the run, topping the conference with only 101.7 yards allowed per game. Colorado is eighth in the Pac-12 in rushing with 153.4 yards per game.
DRAFT SLANT
–PK Matt Gay is a potential draft pick for some NFL teams in need of placekicking help. He set a school record for field goals made in a game with a 6-for-6 performance against Oregon last week. Gay had a season-long 55-yard field goal, his sixth career 50-plus-yard field goal (first this season).
ROSTER REPORT:
–QB Tyler Huntley is out for the rest of the regular season because of a broken collarbone suffered two weeks ago at ASU. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said the possibility exists that Huntley can play in a bowl game.
–RB Zack Moss (knee) is also lost for the season after suffering the injury in a freak accident at home. He told coaches his knee locked on him.
–WR Siaosi Mariner, who played minimally in the previous two games with an undisclosed injury, played against Oregon last week. He had one reception for six yards.
