GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: With plenty of questions surrounding Oregon State’s quarterback situation, the Beavers will likely turn toward running back Jermar Jefferson to shoulder the load on offense. The freshman leads the Pac-12 with 899 yards and 12 touchdowns and has eclipsed the 100-yard plateau four times, twice reaching 200-plus yards. Jefferson is dealing with a quad injury that limited him last week versus California, but is listed as likely against Colorado.
The Buffs are tied with Oregon and Utah for the fewest rushing touchdowns allowed (seven) in the conference. Colorado’s rushing defense is holding opponents to 146 yards per game, fifth in the Pac-12, however, the 201 yards surrendered on the ground last week to Washington was by far the most they’ve given up since the 329 yards to Nebraska in Week 2.
DRAFT SLANT
–SS Evan Worthington registered his first sack of the season against the Huskies. The senior’s seven tackles give him 34 on the campaign, good enough for third-best on the team.
ROSTER REPORT:
–CB Chris Miller will miss the remainder of the season after surgery Monday on his injured hand. The cornerback had 10 tackles in six games and had started the Buffs’ last two games against Southern California and Washington.
–WR Jay MacIntyre is listed as day-to-day while he recovers from the concussion that kept the senior out of the Washington game. The son of head coach Mike MacIntyre, Jay has 14 catches for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns (both against Nebraska) on the year.
