GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Virginia’s secondary against Miami’s passing offense. While the Cavaliers have been good against the pass this season, injuries in the secondary have taken their toll. A bye week after a disappointing showing against N.C. State may be just what Virginia needs to start to get a bit healthier heading in to a tough challenge against a Miami team that boasts three wide receivers with at least three touchdown catches this season. Jeff Thomas is the Hurricanes leading receiver yardage wise as he is averaging almost 25 yards per catch.
DRAFT SLANT
–WR Hasies Dubois has become a threat in Virginia’s passing offense as he has started to complement Olamide Zaccheaus over the past few games. Dubois gives QB Bryce Perkins a taller, bigger receiving target that has produced 22 receptions and 247 yards so far this season. Dubois has shown the ability to go up and make catches in traffic with a strong set of hands.
ROSTER REPORT
–DB Chris Moore will miss the rest of the season with an undisclosed injury.
–DB Germane Crowell will miss this week’s game with a concussion.
