GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Baylor front seven versus Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray. The Bears struggled against Duke dual-threat quarterback Quentin Harris two weeks ago and Murray presents a similar threat. Murray has the play-making ability to burn undisciplined defenses and Baylor has given up a few big plays this season. The Bears defensive line and linebackers need to corral Murray before he gets into the secondary.
DRAFT SLANT
–WR Denzel Mims is still struggling to match his output from last season. He caught two passes for 32 yards against Kansas, playing only a bit part in the Bears’ offense.
ROSTER REPORT:
–LG Xavier Newman suffered a high ankle sprain in the win over Kansas. Coach Matt Rhule doesn’t expect him to be available this week.
–WR Tony Nicholson asked for and was granted his release from the program last week. Nicholson didn’t have a catch through three games and was limited to three punt returns for 34 yards.
–LT Josh Malin was helped off the field versus Abilene Christian with a knee injury. Mallin has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL and will miss at least four weeks. Rhule said he hopes to get Malin back in practice in the next couple of weeks.
