GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: David Blough has been on a roll these past two games, but if there’s one area of concern it’s the offensive line’s ability to handle pressure. Blough took five sacks against Boston College last week, and while Nebraska wasn’t able to do much against Michigan it did have seven sacks in its season-opening loss to Colorado. Look for the Huskers to try to slow the Boilermakers down by bringing extra rushers on obvious passing downs, and if Blough and the line can weather the storm, it could be another big passing game for the Boilermakers.
DRAFT SLANT
–RB Markell Jones will graduate among the top 10 rushers in Purdue history after having passed Leroy Keyes for 10th place early in the season. He enters the week 191 yards shy of Jerod Void, whose 2,429 yards place him ninth on the list.
ROSTER REPORT:
–QB Elijah Sindelar missed the Missouri game with an undisclosed injury, and while he was available for the Boston College game he didn’t play. It looks like he’s settled into the No. 2 position on the depth chart behind David Blough, though at Purdue these things can change quickly.
–WR Isaac Zico had a breakout performance against Boston College, with six catches for 84 yards. As opponents focus on stopping freshman Rondale Moore, Zico should continue to find space to operate in the secondary.
–K Spencer Evans wasn’t at his best on Saturday, but he could use his health as an excuse. Even though he was ill, a missed extra point and some short kicks mean that he’ll have to battle J.D. Dellinger for the kicking job this week.
