GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Wisconsin sophomore running back Jonathan Taylor vs. Minnesota’s defense: Taylor is coming off a 321-yard performance against Purdue. Sure, Minnesota’s defense is greatly improved under new defensive coordinator Joe Rossi in the last two games. It’s been a remarkable turnaround, but Taylor is one of the best running backs in the country. If Minnesota can keep Taylor from getting free for big runs, they might have a chance for an upset because Wisconsin’s defense is struggling.
DRAFT SLANT:
–Wide receiver Tyler Johnson is having a historic season for the Gophers with 70 receptions for 1,036 yards and 10 touchdowns. With a big game against Wisconsin, Johnson can set several program single-season records. He’s on track to earn numerous conference honors.
ROSTER REPORT:
–QB Zack Annexstad is questionable for the Wisconsin game due to a midsection injury.
