KEY MATCHUP: Freshman QB Trevor Lawrence will be a challenge for Syracuse’s defense after he threw four touchdowns on Saturday against Georgia Tech. Clemson has balance with its running game, gaining 248 yards on the ground, averaging nearly seven yards per attempt. The Orange’s offensive line will also be on high alert, going against one of the best defensive lines in college. The Tigers rank fourth nationally in team defense, limiting opponents to 251.8 yards per game. Syracuse’s offense is ranked No. 13, averaging 523.3 yards per game.

–QB Eric Dungey, 6-foot-4 and 226 pounds, completed 21 of 27 pass attempts for 286 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in last week’s win over Connecticut. He also rushed for 77 yards on 16 carries and scored three times on the ground.
ROSTER REPORT:
–TE Ravian Pierce is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury, according to Syracuse coach Dino Babers. He missed Saturday’s game against UConn after catching six touchdowns over the first 15 games of his career.
–FS Devon Clarke, a second-team contributor, didn’t dress for the game against UConn due to an undisclosed injury. His availability for Saturday’s game at Clemson is undetermined.
–SS Evan Foster suffered an apparent lower-body injury against UConn. Foster, a junior two-year starter, did not return to action after leaving and is questionable to play at Clemson on Saturday.
